Hope Treks is a proud supporter of Shree Chheskam Secondary and Primary Schools in the village of Chheskam, Nepal, in partnership with Full Circle International and its owner and CFO Natalie Annis.
During a 2016 visit to Chheskam in the Solukhumbu District of NE Nepal, Tonya and Natalie met with the principal and school board members at Shree Chheskam. It was clear to Tonya and Natalie that, while the teachers were talented and dedicated educators, there were not nearly enough staff members for the 780 students. The school lacked supplies and sufficient educational materials. The 2nd grade had 90 children in one classroom.
With the support of FCI and Hope Treks, the school has received new educational materials and has hired three new teachers! This collaboration is managed by Adhish Rai, a graduate of Chheskam School and guide at Hope Treks.
